Ninja Scan

Effective July 8, 2026

Terms of Service

The rules for using Ninja Scan, written the way we'd want them explained to us: plainly, and without surprises.

The short version: Ninja Scan is a free tool. Use it to scan your own documents and cards, keep it lawful, and know that it's provided as-is — we can't guarantee OCR accuracy or that Google's services stay up, and we're not liable if they don't.

01

Acceptance of terms

By installing or using Ninja Scan, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

02

License to use the app

You're granted a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Ninja Scan on devices you own or control, for your own document and business-card scanning. The app's code, name, and logo remain the property of its developer and aren't licensed to you for reuse outside of using the app itself.

03

Your content

Everything you scan — documents, business cards, notes, tags — is and stays yours. Ninja Scan doesn't claim any ownership over it, and doesn't transmit it anywhere except a Google Drive folder you control, if you turn backup on. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.

04

Acceptable use

You agree to use Ninja Scan lawfully, and in particular not to:

  • Scan, store, or export documents you don't have the right to possess or copy
  • Use the business-card scanner to build contact lists from cards you didn't legitimately receive
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the app's operation beyond what platform law expressly permits
05

Third-party services

Document capture and text recognition run on Google's ML Kit; the optional backup feature uses Google Drive and Google's identity/ authorization services; saving a card uses Android's own Contacts app. Each is provided by its own company under its own terms — Ninja Scan isn't responsible for their availability, accuracy, or changes.

06

No warranty

Ninja Scan is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Automatic OCR and field extraction (names, phone numbers, companies, and the like) are heuristic and can be wrong — always check extracted details before relying on them, especially before saving a card to your contacts or exporting a batch.

07

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer of Ninja Scan isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including lost documents, lost contacts, or a failed Drive backup. Because backups are optional and best-effort, keep an independent copy of anything irreplaceable.

08

Availability & changes

Ninja Scan is offered free, with no subscription and no ads. Features may be added, changed, or removed over time, and the app may stop being maintained — we'll do our best to keep your local data readable and exportable (CSV, Excel, PDF) regardless.

09

Termination

You can stop using Ninja Scan at any time by uninstalling it, which removes its local data from your device. You can revoke its access to Google Drive at any time from myaccount.google.com/permissions.

10

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the developer's home jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. (Placeholder — fill in a specific country/state before publishing.)

11

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the effective date above will be updated, and material changes will be called out in the app's release notes.
